Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder, Imran Khan, approached the Supreme Court on Friday, requesting an early hearing for their petition seeking a judicial commission to probe alleged rigging in the February 2024 general elections. "It is respectfully prayed that the matter may kindly be fixed on June 25, 2024 (in the week commencing on June 24)," the former prime minister's petition requested.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was requested on Thursday to probe a video posted by the official social media account of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan. Aneesur Rehman, a technical assistant at the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cyber Crime Reporting Centre in Islamabad, on Thursday, wrote to the centre's deputy director and drew his attention to a video posted by Imran Khan's official 'X' (formerly known as Twitter) account on May 26.

The government has expressed its willingness to consider a request from the judiciary to form an inquiry commission under the relevant law to investigate the allegations of interference, intimidation, and surveillance by certain state institutions levelled by six judges of the Islamabad High Court. The decision came after a detailed meeting between Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Supreme Court the other day.
