Abuja — The National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, on Wednesday, asked the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, to forthwith, stop the parading of suspects in custody, describing the action as unlawful and unconstitutional. The rights body stressed that the 1999 Constitution, as amended, presumed every accused persons to be innocent. It maintained that the practice of parading suspects before their trial or conviction, amount to a gross violation of the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution.
