1 INTRODUCTION Climate constitutes a significant constraint on agriculture across the globe, especially in Africa. Agriculture remains the main source of income and employment for most rural Africans, thus the need for investments in agricultural development to improve livelihoods and achieve sustainable development goals (Quisumbing et al., 2018). The adverse shifts in climate can lead to devastating declines in human welfare.
