    Habitat Philou officially opened its doors in Montreal's Ahuntsic-Cartierville Friday morning, offering long-term housing and support to 12 young adults with multiple disabilities. The Habitat is a project by Centre Philou, which was founded 20 years ago by the parents of young Philippe - known as Philou - who suffers from severe cerebral palsy.

A new award, the insignia of the Order of Montreal, was created specifically for women who have contributed to the "development, construction, influence and advancement of Montreal and all of Quebec society," said Mayor Valérie Plante.     A woman was found dead Wednesday afternoon in a Châteauguay residence, on Montreal's South Shore. She is believed to have been the victim of murder, according to some reports. Police were called to a house on Jules-Dumouchel St. at around 3 p.m., where they discovered the victim's lifeless body. Marc Tessier, a Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson, said SQ officers intercepted a male suspect in a vehicle in the Saint-Stanislas sector, shortly after the body was discovered.
