1. IntroductionTraumatic brain injury (TBI) represents a substantial global health problem and is considered a chronic disease with a potentially life-long impact on health and well-being [1,2]. The long-term consequences of TBI commonly involve a wide range of symptoms that relate to physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and psychosocial functioning, often resulting in problems with community integration and productivity [2,3,4].

1. IntroductionTraumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common cause of long-term disability in adults of working age, and the disability is often multi-faceted. The focus of this article is a one-year follow-up of individuals with persistent dizziness and balance problems after mild-to-moderate TBI (mmTBI). Even though most patients successfully recover during the first three months [1], dizziness and balance problems can persist for one year or more after mmTBI [2,3,4,5].

Key PointsQuestion  Does a home-based intervention that is individually tailored and goal oriented improve health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and participation and ameliorate symptoms in the chronic phase of traumatic brain injury (TBI)? Findings  In this randomized clinical trial including 120 adult participants in the chronic phase of TBI, no significant results were seen in disease-specific HRQOL or social participation.
