    The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Dr Umo Eno, has approved N80,000 minimum wage payment to 45,984 verified Akwa Ibom workers. Eno authorised the payment after receiving the report from the Committee on the Implementation of the New Minimum Wage/Personnel Verification headed by the Head of Service, Elder Effiong Essien. According to Mr Ekerete Udoh, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the N80,000 payment will begin by the end of January and will be backdated to November 2024.
