Two persons, Olufunsho Dayo Chevy and Uwem Udo Nya, convicted for oil theft and sentenced to a fine of N20 million have been ordered to paid N5 million each into the account of the Federal Government. The conviction and sentence of Chevy and Nya for oil theft alongside a vessel, MT New Angel, and a company, Edi Eurolink Distribution, was secured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Command.

A final-year Higher National Diploma (HND) student of Computer Science in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has been shot dead. It was gathered that the victim simply identified as Prince was shot by unidentified gunmen at about 1am on Wednesday. He was murdered along Abuja Street in Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene local government area. SPONSOR ADThe deceased was waiting to be mobilized for the National Youth Service Scheme when he was killed.

The Akwa Ibom State Government lost a total revenue of N613, 200, 000 million in three years to the illegal leasing of its fire service trucks allegedly stolen from the State Fire Service. The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, disclosed this during his maiden press briefing in Uyo, the State capital. He said the command arrested four officials of the state fire service who allegedly stole fire trucks.

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dissolved his cabinet, saying he needs to bring new persons on board. Speaking during a valedictory session at the exco chamber, on Friday,  Eno said none of the commissioners under performed. The governor who stated that though all of them delivered on their responsibilities, they had to be replaced for new set of professionals to be brought into the government.
