1. IntroductionGlioblastoma (GBM) is recognized as the most aggressive form of neoplasia of the central nervous system, arising from glia or their precursor cells [1,2]. Although several treatment options are available, including surgery, along with radio- and chemotherapy, GBM is characterized by a very poor prognosis and life expectancy, with a median survival time ranging from 12 to 15 months.
