    Cardiff University should use its reserves of more than £500m to ease financial pressures amid concerns of 400 job losses, a union has said. The institution has £506m in unrestricted reserves, which has increased by more than 50% in a year, according to figures seen by Newyddion S4C, which lecturers' union UCU said should be partially used.

    An eye-witness has described the "shocking" moment a brick appeared to be thrown through a moving bus window, injuring a passenger. Ioan Dyer was travelling on a bus from Newport to Cardiff on Sunday evening when the object smashed through a side window, covering the floor with glass. Mr Dyer said a passenger with a pushchair had previously been standing by the window, adding "someone could have been killed".

Blaenau Gwent council has said teachers will no longer change pupils who have wet or soiled themselves, with parents being called in to school instead. The council said it had introduced this policy due to "very high levels of pupils coming to school in nappies".
