Katharine “Kitty” Dukakis, wife of former Massachusetts governor and 1988 Democratic presidential nominee Michael Dukakis and an advocate known for her efforts to destigmatize mental illness and addiction, died on March 21 at the age of 88. The cause of death was complications from dementia, her son John told the New York Times.
