Seed production in various grains, horticulture, and forage crops is closely related to the activity of insect pollinators, with honeybees (Apis spp.) considered to be the primary insect pollinator. Honeybees [Apis mellifera L. (Hymenoptera: Apidae)] contribute to the pollination of about 80% of all major seed-producing crops (Meena et al. 2015, Cook et al. 2023).
