Capping a long career of controversy in student government, Judicial Council president Hunter Brooke resigned Tuesday evening. Brooke, a senior, has served as Carroll Hall senator and Student Union parliamentarian. He also ran an unsuccessful campaign for student body vice president in 2023. He resigned to avert an impeachment hearing that would have been held at Wednesday’s senate meeting.

As the country goes to the polls this week to vote in the 2024 presidential election, a poll conducted by The Observer finds that Notre Dame students favor Kamala Harris over Donald Trump. According to the poll, Vice President Kamala Harris leads with 54.2% of Notre Dame students’ votes, compared to 38.3% for former President Donald Trump. The Observer poll also identified trends among the student body suggestive of how the country is voting.

On Friday, former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice spoke with University President Fr.
