In the past four years, over 400 people have published their first puzzle in our pages - more than did so from 2009 to 2019. More people are solving the daily crossword than ever before, and some might argue that we're in a crossword puzzle golden age. We had 88 debuts this year, four fewer than the record of 92 that was set in 2021 and repeated in 2023.

Bolt was hoping to create the design for Lego Ideas, a program the toy-maker started in 2008 to solicit ideas online directly from fans.
