Farmers, their families and employees are advised to check for any gaps in their National Insurance (NI) record, as voluntarily paying to fill these may increase their state pension. Rachel Coates of Cumbria-based accountant Dodd & Co says taxpayers have until 5 April 2025 to fill in any gaps dating back to April 2006.
