1 INTRODUCTION An increasing body of evidence suggests that prolonged exposure to life stress is a risk factor for adiposity (Block et al., 2009; Cuevas et al., 2019; Hamer & Stamatakis, 2008; Moore & Cunningham, 2012; Wardle et al., 2011).
