A non-profit supporting neurodiverse children says Southwark families are missing out on its services due to a lack of a permanent base. The Neurodiversity Family Hub, launched in 2023 by Borough resident Sonay Ozkutayli and Marine Bernier-Harrington, provides youth clubs and support for children with special educational needs (SEND) and their parents. Sonay, a mother of two neurodiverse children, struggled to find local SEND-focused activities.

A unique singing programme in Peckham is giving mums a much-needed mood boost, helping them feel less alone and more connected in the weeks after giving birth. Breathe Melodies for Mums is a ten-week programme run by not-for-profit organisation Breathe Arts Health Research, designed specifically to support mothers’ mental health and wellbeing through group singing.
