A fox tested positive for rabies after being found near Palo Pinto Path in Wimberley near Cypress Creek Thursday. According to the Hays County Sheriff's Office, the fox was found exhibiting abnormal behavior and was found to be positive for rabies after being tested by the Department of State Health Services. Police Chief Jason O'Malley retired from the city of Pflugerville Thursday, the city announced. Chief O'Malley had worked as police chief for nearly 5 years with a combined law enforcement career spanning over 25 years. Chief O'Malley served as a Commander in the Pflugerville Police Department from July 7th, 2020 until September 14th, 2021, which is when he was appointed as Police Chief.

The Austin Police Department issued a Silver Alert for 73-year-old John Mendel Sunday evening. Mendel is described as a white male, and was last seen wearing a dark blue dri-fit shirt, jeans, and Crocs. ALSO:Cedar Park Police searching for suspected shoplifters near the Town Center Mendel was last seen around 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the 4000 block of Gemstone Rd. in Austin. He is believed to potentially be traveling in an orange 2010 Dodge Caliber with Texas license plates.

Cedar Park Police announced around 6:45 p.m. Sunday that they were searching for suspected shoplifters who fled the area of the Town Center nearby on foot. The suspects were described as a Hispanic Male wearing a white t-shirt and blue hat, and a Hispanic male wearing a purple tank top.
