Twelve persons who were travelling from Zaria local government area of Kaduna State to Qua’an Pan in Plateau State were attacked and killed by hoodlums in Mangu local government area of Plateau State on Friday. Some other travellers sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital in Mangu.

The Kaduna State Police Command-led joint task force, in an intensified crackdown on criminal elements, has arrested 398 criminal suspects, recovered locally made pistol, other dangerous weapons and drugs in the state. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Mansir Hassan said the arrest was sequel to the establishment of a Special Task Force by the Kaduna State Government.

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has strongly condemned the recent massacre in Yelwata community, Guma local government area of Benue State, where over 50 residents, including youths and children, were reportedly killed in brutal attacks. In a statement, the president of NAPS, Comrade Eshiofune Paul Oghayan, described the killings as “a national disgrace” and called for immediate and decisive action from both federal and state authorities.
