When Dusty May took over the Michigan basketball program, he inherited a commitment in Durral 'Phat Phat' Brooks, and brought in two in Justin Pippen and LJ Cason. But now, that 2024 recruiting class has been decimated. Pippen and Brooks both opted to move on while Cason looks poised to play a major role in the upcoming season after a solid showing in the postseason this past year. Pippen ended up transferring to Cal, but little was known about where Brooks would end up.

Michigan football didn't have a large number of players who transferred out in the spring sessions, but it did see some departures. Perhaps the most surprising being the expected third running back in the rotation, Ben Hall, leaving just days before the spring game (he ended up at North Carolina). Most of the players who left had found their destinations, but there are a few who were still looking for their destination of choice.

Michigan football has a small window where recruiting the 2026 class isn’t taking center stage, but it’s about to pick back up with official visits starting at the end of the month. One top target for the maize and blue this cycle is Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga five-star edge rusher Carter Meadows, who the Wolverines have long made a priority. Michigan has the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine edge for Meadows at the moment, with a 40% chance it lands him.
