1. IntroductionThe intersection of COVID-19 and diabetes represents a multifaceted area of concern in contemporary healthcare. Diabetes, a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by high blood sugar levels, has emerged as a significant risk factor for severe COVID-19 outcomes (1). Emerging research has illuminated a complex relationship, revealing that individuals with diabetes are more susceptible to severe COVID-19 complications and adverse consequences, such as hospitalization and mortality.
