The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested three of its officers over the death of a suspect, Abubakar Auwal, in detention. A release by the command's Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said Auwal was arrested over a reported case of stolen trailer rims at the Jega Divisional Police Headquarters but collapsed and died while in detention. It said, "Auwal reportedly collapsed around 6:00am on April 16.

The Kebbi State Police Command, on Tuesday, announced the arrest of three members of the Lakurawa terrorists group who allegedly offered N1.6 million bribe to its lead investigator. A statement by the command's public relations officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said the three suspects, one Umaru Garba, Alhaji Abubakar Mamman and Usman Muhammadu, had conspired to offer detectives bribe to compromise investigation and prosecution of a banditry case involving Lakurawa terrorists.

Abuja — The federal government will commence malaria vaccination in Kebbi and Bayelsa states, today. The exercise marks the introduction of the malaria vaccine in the country. The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) said the first phase of the malaria vaccine rollout in Nigeria will commence in Kebbi and Bayelsa states.
