    The first time I sailed to Gozo, the evening sky over the island exploded into myriad multicoloured fireworks. I’d fully expected to fall for Malta’s little sister — I just hadn’t expected it to be so pleased to see me. Such is Gozo’s charm. Criminally overlooked, it retains an unspoilt character, partly due to the fact that with no airport, it’s accessible only by sea. The island is only nine miles by four, so it’s easy to see a lot in a short time.
