Police, with the help of a private security company, have arrested three suspects found travelling in a car flagged to have been used in the commission of a crime in Potchefstroom. The arrest occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the intersection of Delmas Road and the N1 Highway on-ramp south direction. According to Bull Security spokesperson French Jooste, tactical members were doing a routine patrol and received a license plate registration trigger on a black Volkswagen.

The Pretoria East Cemetery may finally get a boundary wall on its western side, but residents will have to wait until the 2028/29 fiscal year, pending budget approval. The cemetery on Matt Street in Pretorius Park has been without a boundary wall for years, allowing easy access to the site for dwellers of the nearby Cemetery View informal settlement.

The Public Protector’s office will look into Tshwane DA complaint that Tshwane Deputy Mayor Eugene Modise is financially benefitting from Triotic Protection Services. The DA requested that the Public Protector launches an investigation into the alleged tax delinquent company to establish if Modise was benefitting from the company while serving as a public servant. The complaint is currently being processed, according to Khulu Phasiwe, spokesperson for the Public Protector.

Tshwane has suspended a Finance Department employee flagged for involvement in swindling the municipality out of over R10-million in eight months. An internal investigation identified the employee, along with two colleagues, as allegedly being involved in the fraudulent activities. The investigation uncovered more than 200 transfers amounting to more than R10-million from various municipal user [customer] accounts into a ghost municipal account.

Residents in the east of Pretoria are warned to be cautious as a spate of break-ins and attempted break-ins hit the area recently. Thursday, March 20, was a chaotic night for residents of Lynnwood Ridge, Murrayfield, Die Wilgers, and nearby areas. Between midnight and 05:00 am, multiple break-ins, attempted break-ins, and a violent robbery occurred, according to Aris Ruyter of the Alpha Security Forum and the Garsfontein CPF.
