Now, the Legion must see what the Seattle Seawolves do Sunday evening to learn its Major League Rugby playoff fate. With the victory over Old Glory, the Legion (8-8, 48 points) moved ahead of Seattle (7-1-7, 44 points) into fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

In the busiest Division I men’s basketball offseason ever, nearly 2,700 players entered the transfer portal. The University of San Diego’s men’s program was among the busiest in the nation. The Toreros lost nine players via the portal, including center Steven Jamerson to UCLA and guard Santiago Trouet to Arizona State.

After dominating the competition during the regular season, the San Diego Rebellion of the Women’s National Football Conference will be heavy favorites entering Friday’s Western Conference semifinal game against the Los Angeles Legends. The teams last met April 19, with the Rebellion rolling to a 20-0 victory at Escondido High School. Friday’s game will take place at 8 p.m. in Portland, Ore. The Rebellion are 6-0 entering the postseason. They’re outscoring their opponents, 201-9.
