    The National Drug Authority has donated 5 million shillings to the Lango cultural institution for their upcoming coronation on November 2nd of this year, during which Lango will install their new paramount chief, Eng Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune, onto the throne. Lango, along with other northern Ugandan communities, has suffered as a result of Uganda's conflicts, including the LRA war, leading to many people being displaced and seeking re-settlement.

    Entebbe District Police Commander (DPC), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kenneth Muheirwe on July 4 handed over office to former Bunyangabu counterpart, SSP Stephen Twinomugisha. Mr Muheirwe served for two years at Entebbe central police station. He has been transferred with a new role as the administrator in the operations department in the Uganda Police Force.

    Four senior staff members at the Micro Finance Support Center namely John Peter Mujuni, Mwebembezi John, Asimwe Joan Baryaruha, and Birungi Julia—conspired to defraud the Government of Uganda of UGX 10.8 billion between November 2019 and August 2020.  The funds, which were meant to be disbursed to Teachers' SACCOs (WALIMU) across the country to enhance their financial support, were part of a UGX 25 billion pledge by the government.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has successfully repatriated 23 Ugandans who had been trafficked to Myanmar. The group, consisting of five females and 18 males, was brought back to Uganda with support from the International Organization for Migration. Concerns about the victims emerged in 2023 when reports surfaced about 23 Ugandans being held in Tachileik, Myanmar, after being lured with promises of high-paying jobs.
