Apple is reportedly developing new chips to drive smart glasses similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban Meta as well as more powerful Macs and AI servers. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman notes that one of the chips is inspired by the Apple Watch’s low-power processors. Apple aims to put these chips into mass production with TSMC by the end of next year or 2027, according to the report. Glasses are a big focus.

Instacart CEO Fidji Simo is joining OpenAI as Application CEO, the ChatGPT maker said on Thursday. Simo, already a board member at OpenAI, will transition out of Instacart over the next few months and join the AI company full-time later this year. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said he would continue in his role, overseeing verticals like research, compute and applications. Simo will directly report to Altman.
