A Texas district court judge issued a decision on Sept. 13, declaring that “DACA,” a program providing certain benefits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children, is illegal. The ruling states that new applications will not be adjudicated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), however, those who already have DACA designation will be allowed to renew it.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently issued a significant decision enforcing the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act’s (the act) exclusivity provision. See Franczyk v. The Home Depot, (Pa. April 19, 2023). The plaintiff, a Home Depot employee, was bitten by a customer’s dog, after which she underwent surgery and received workers’ compensation benefits.
