Big news for the D&D playerbase and its associated creators today as WotC announced the imminent release of the SRD 5.2. The new SRD will be a free version of the 2024 Core Rules, released under the Creative Commons (CC-BY-4.0) license. This is a far cry from two years ago, when the upcoming revocation of the OGL sparked all sorts of controversy.

They cost you nothing but your action – they’re useful whenever you’re out of spell slots, or if you’re playing a little more risk-averse with them, because you know your DM is just waiting for you to run out of spells before introducing the main villain of this arc of your campaign.
