On July 7, 1924, a team of a half-dozen Americans put up a score of 363 in the men’s trap-shooting team competition at the Paris Olympics. Among them: 36-year-old Nashville attorney John Hopkins Noel Sr.That 363 was three points better than Canada and scored the U.S., including Noel, a gold. It was the last gold medal awarded in the team trap competition, but it was the first gold medal awarded to a Tennessean.

Live Nation blew past its revenue record in the third quarter, reporting $8.2 billion in earnings, eclipsing the previous mark of $6.2 billion in the third quarter of 2022. That’s a 32 percent year-over-year increase as the company anticipates finishing the year with record revenues. Two of the three best earnings reports in Live Nation Entertainment’s history have come in consecutive quarters. The company reported $5.6 billion in Q2.

Taylor Swift’s all-consuming “The Eras Tour” just keeps going. The megastar announced three more dates for her megatour, as she’ll play Vancouver’s BC Place December 6-8, 2024. The shows on Canada’s west coast follow six shows in Toronto, set as part of the 15-date 2024 fall run Swift announced in August.
