In October, President Biden issued a formal apology on behalf of the U.S. government for the historical kidnapping, relocation, and abuse of thousands of Indigenous children placed in so-called "boarding schools" between 1819 and 1969. The American Indian Boarding Schools program, which included the residential schools in Canada, Australia, and other settler colonies, was part of a broader campaign aimed at facilitating the genocide of Indigenous communities.

In May 2024, the Louisiana State Legislature passed Senate Bill 276 (SB276), which amends Louisiana's near-total abortion ban to, among other truly depraved things, classify the drugs misoprostol and mifepristone as Schedule IV controlled substances according to the Louisiana Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law. This policy went into effect Oct. 1, 2024.

On May 20, 2024, International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim A. A. Khan issued a public statement announcing his decision to file applications for warrants of arrest "in the situation in the State of Palestine." Since then, the ICC has affirmed countless times its intention to issue arrest warrants related to the genocide in Palestine, and on July 19, 2024, it issued an advisory ruling finding Israel's occupation of Palestine to be violative of international law.
