Football runs deep for new NC State edge rusher Cian Slone, and he knows what it's like to have it taken away. The Wolfpack offered Slone on March 27 and quickly got him to officially visit. NCSU coach Dave Doeren let him know he was needed and how he'd fit in the Wolfpack's new scheme. The Utah State transfer committed to NC State on April 5, and is finishing off the final weeks of his Aggies career earning his degree in Kinesiology.

Shooting guard Aziaha James gave NC State a pair of WNBA first-round draft picks Monday. James was the last pick of the first round at No. 12, going to the Dallas Wings. She'll be joined by Connecticut point guard Paige Bueckers, the No. 1 overall pick. James joined teammate Saniya Rivers in the first round, with the latter going No. 10 to the Connecticut Sun. James emerged her last two years at NC State, and she averaged 17.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game this season.

Guard Saniya Rivers became NC State's highest drafted WNBA player ever, going to No. 8 overall to the Connecticut Sun on Monday. Rivers topped center Markeisha Gatling, who went No. 10 to the Chicago Sky in 2014, and wing Kiara Leslie, who went No. 10 to the Washington Mystics in 2019. Rivers averaged 11.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for the Wolfpack, who finished second in the ACC Tournament and reached the Elite Eight.

Junior DL Djidjou Bah seeing his recruitment take off Junior defensive lineman Djidjou Bah went two-for-two in picking up offers in the Triangle during a recent visit. Bah went to see Duke on March 20 and NC State the next day, and both programs offered. He also has a connection at North Carolina with former Germantown (Tenn.)
