Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is a peptide hormone comprising 30 or 31 amino acids. (1−3) As an incretin, GLP-1 stimulates a decrease in blood glucose levels and, thus, is of increasing importance within the pharmaceutical industry as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. (4−6) Several GLP-1 analogues have been produced commercially. (7,8) Though currently in widespread use as an intravenous treatment, challenges remain with regard to its formulation.

Darren Woodson is a great safety. A question that comes up annually is whether he belongs in the Professional Football Hall of Fame. In 2015, I looked up all the members of the HOF who were listed as safeties and concluded he was probably destined for the Hall of Pretty Good. I have referred to that post occasionally. That is not a slam on Woody, but it is unsatisfying. The last graduate of the Baylor School of Medicine is called Doctor, but not every valedictorian is named to the Hall of Fame.
