Nya Robertson has transferred to Lady Vols basketball, per an announcement on Instagram. Robertson joins Tennessee with one year of eligibility remaining. The 5-foot-7 guard played last season at SMU and played the first two seasons of her career at George Washington. Robertson played in 27 of SMU's 30 games last season, starting 25 contests. She averaged 18.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists with the Mustangs. She was named an all-ACC second-team selection.

Tennessee softball finished its weekend in Austin with a 4-1 win over Texas. Karen Weekly and the No. 7 Lady Vols (34-9, 9-6 SEC) win the series over the No. 1 Longhorns (39-5, 11-4). After Saturday's win, Sunday's victory is the second win over No. 1 for Tennessee since 2017. Karlyn Pickens threw all seven innings for the Lady Vols, letting up six hits and one run. She struck out 10 and walked one Texas batter.

Tennessee softball tied up its series with Texas, winning, 3-1. Karen Weekly and the No. 7 Lady Vols (33-9, 8-6 SEC) have won their first game over a No. 1 team since 2017 by defeating the top-ranked Longhorns (39-4, 11-3). The Lady Vols have not beaten a No. 1 team on the road since 2012 when they beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Tennessee is the first team to beat Texas at McCombs Field this season. Tennessee's first runs came in the first inning on a two-run home run from McKenna Gibson.

Tennessee softball ace Karlyn Pickens threw 21 pitches in the first inning against Texas before being pulled by head coach Karen Weekly in a 3-0 loss to Texas. The No. 7 Lady Vols (32-9, 7-6 SEC) dropped the opening game of their series to the No. 1 Longhorns (39-3, 11-2) but did so without their star pitcher throwing more than the opening frame. Weekly addressed any injury concern after the third inning on the ESPNU broadcast when asked about Pickens' condition by analyst Michelle Smith.

Tennessee softball lost its series opener at Texas, 3-0. Karen Weekly and the No. 7 Lady Vols (32-9, 7-6 SEC) fall four games behind the No. 1 Longhorns (39-3, 11-2) in the SEC standings with the loss. Tennessee will try to avoid having multiple series losses in a season for the first time in three seasons Saturday and Sunday. Tennessee's offense only managed to earn two hits against Texas ace Teagan Kavan. Five Lady Vols reached on walks, and Tennessee left six runners on base.
