It was three ground ball singles, one walk to load the bases and one mighty Angel Martínez swing that changed the game.

On Tuesday, in a 9-5 win over the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field, the team’s play embodied that dynamic. Starting pitcher Dustin May was mostly good, but gave up a three-run homer that marred an otherwise productive five-inning start.
