There’s new information today that suggests that is indeed Georgia’s plan. On3’s Hayes Fawcett is reporting that former North Carolina EDGE Beau Atkinson will visit UGA — along with Ohio State — as he seeks a new college home.

I’ve been consistent in my belief that Gunner Stockton has the potential to be successful, but Georgia fans should be patient with him as he develops. I said that after Georgia lost his first start vs. Notre Dame, and I also said the same thing when he stepped in for Carson Beck and played the hero in UGA’s come-from-behind win against Texas in the SEC championship. Saturday’s G-Day scrimmage was the next step in his development.

Georgia’s arms race for elite quarterback services will continue through April and into May, when five-star target Jared Curtis plans to make his decision between UGA and Oregon. So what happens if Curtis is a Neon Nike Duck? Georgia would like turn its focus to Texas product Bowe Bentley, who appears to be headed to the SEC whether he’s in Athens next season or not. Bentley, who led Celina High School to a Texas state championship last season, will choose between LSU, Oklahoma and Georgia.

Georgia fans ought to be excited by the amount of leaders identifying themselves to the media this spring. Players like Jordan Hall, Oscar Delp and KJ Bolden spoke about their increasing roles a couple weeks ago, and more players have delivered similar messages since. That included a very interesting conversation between reporters and offensive lineman Micah Morris earlier this week.

Georgia’s in the middle of spring practice, and DawgNation’s attention will always be on that. However, across the street from the football facility there’s also a fun story taking shape. UGA’s baseball team is red hot right now after earning another sweep in SEC play, this time against 11th-ranked Auburn. The Diamond Dawgs have moved to No. 1 in the RPI rankings after a weekend which included a walk-off home run from Daniel Jackson (no relation to the football star).

Tuesday was a busy day around DawgNation. We got confirmation on the game time for G-Day. It will be April 13 at 1 p.m. The fact that a game time has been announced would seem to confirm the event will still take place -- despite the cancellation of other spring games around the country. UGA also officially confirmed the hiring of two offensive staffers -- including John Lilly, the former Bulldogs tight end coach who has spent his recent years in the NFL.

Growing up one of my favorite sporting events was the NCAA basketball tournament. There was just something special about “March Madness.” I felt this way even though my favorite team, Georgia, was rarely involved in The Big Dance. It’s been 10 years since anyone has been able to pencil in Georgia on their bracket, but the wait appears to be over.

What a weekend it was for Georgia!The men’s basketball team got a road win at Texas that might’ve been enough to put the Bulldogs in the NCAA tournament field, and the Lady Dawgs pulled a surprising upset at Tennessee. The Diamond Dawgs took a four-game sweep against Florida Gulf Coast in thrilling fashion, with three of the four wins coming in the final at-bat. The softball team also had a walk-off of its own on Saturday in come-from-behind fashion against Ohio State.

It will be a busy week for DawgNation as we begin live coverage from the NFL scouting combine starting on Wednesday. Georgia is expected to have as many as three first-round picks in the upcoming NFL draft, and many more former Bulldogs will have an opportunity to make names for themselves in Indianapolis. While that’s certainly good news, the downside is these former UGA stars also leave a void to be filled after their departure.

Not all Georgia fans believe in curses, but the ones who do might have a problem with the way Georgia has recruited Buford High School in recent seasons. The Bulldogs have, fairly infamously, lost out on many homegrown recruits to other national programs. While KJ Bolden’s flip to UGA might have slowed the superstition some, the more skeptical Bulldog fan might turn their eyes to 4-star athlete Tyriq Green. The 2026 prospect is another UGA target from Buford.
