Flood warnings cover many waterways around south-central Kansas. These will continue through the next several days and may be extended further from additional rains coming soon. Quieter skies expected today for most of the area with sunshine and highs in the 70s. A few light showers in western Kansas might cling to life into the early afternoon as they drift into northern Kansas, but these will not produce much meaningful moisture.

A quiet start to our Sunday, and it looks like a great day to head outdoors! We will stay dry this afternoon with seasonably warm temperatures and gentle winds. Lows fall to the 50s overnight with skies remaining mostly cloud free. We are under a G4 geomagnetic storm watch due to intense solar flare activity in recent days, and this may bring the aurora back to Kansas skies. We should have good viewing conditions, so tonight might be the time to go out and try to see it.

Quiet skies to start our Saturday, and the morning will be just about perfect! By afternoon, temperatures will be warm and the air a bit muggy. Still, not bad for late May. Muggy air is thunderstorm fuel, and we will see a few storms later tonight as a compact disturbance moves through the upper atmosphere from north to south. Storms fire up near I-70 in the afternoon and track to the south-southeast, moving toward Wichita in the early evening.

Picture perfect weather to close the week and open Riverfest! Highs in the 70s to low 80s, light winds, and full sunshine will make for a fantastic day outdoors all across the region. Temperatures cool down to the 50s overnight. Humidity increases on Saturday, as does the temperature. It may be a bit muggy outside by afternoon. Muggy air is thunderstorm fuel, and we are monitoring the chance of storms developing over northern Kansas by late afternoon, rolling south and east.

A few spotty showers hanging around from the morning will gradually dissipate into the afternoon. Skies gradually clear from north to south, with sunshine expected for most by evening. Temperatures today stay nice and cool with highs in the 60s and 70s. A few more isolated showers may pop up in the evening, but these will be short lived and most will stay dry as they dissipate after sunset. Skies continue to gradually clear tonight. Lows drop to the 40s and 50s.
