Twelve months ago the Rebels were in a similar position. Having been beaten by Waterford in round of the championship, many on the Lee were calling for Pat Ryan’s head. It was stick or twist for Ryan and his team. The Cork man opted for the former, making five changes for the round two outing and the rest is history. How times change.

The Munster championship kicked off the weekend and for a competition that comes with all the hype, it rarely fails to deliver with Sunday no exception. After Clare and Cork had presented the sequel to their extraordinary All-Ireland final from July, the fare served up in Thurles between Limerick and Tipperary also ended in a stalemate. Almost an instant classic in its own right but owing more to the final stanza than the events leading to there.

Superb Limerick performance to get us back on track. The big men stood up when needed, no more than Cian Lynch who was imperious. Roll on Cork in a fortnight.

Limerick looking so balanced with a spine of Quaid, Morrissey, Hayes, O’Donoghue and Lynch. Gillane and the Bull causing wreck up top then.

With so much on the line and a squad full of stars to choose from, how will Limerick approach Saturday's crucial second round SHC tie?✍️ https://t.co/XQoabF4fzi
