The big talking point ahead of the game was whether Head Coach Paul Wellens would pick George Whitby to start after a stellar performance last week against Wakefield Trinity, and he did. Home Bargains have supported our appeal for numerous years now, with it being no different this time around with them donating a massive amount of Easter Eggs. The company have also supported numerous other appeals that we have had in the past, so we would like to thank them for their great support. Home Bargains started sponsoring the front of the Saints shirt in 2022, and will remain a sponsor of the club for the foreseeable future, having signed an extension recently until 2027.

We had three separate games going on. Perfect Pass took place after making its debut during our last home game against Warrington Wolves at the Totally Wicked Stadium. If you would like to get involved next time, it costs £2 for one throw, or £5 for three.

First HalfSaints took the lead within the opening five minutes. Good defence initially from Saints forced a dropout, Wakefield went short and the ball was patted backwards by the visitors into Morgan Knowles’ hands and he did well to fight his way over in the corner. George Whitby couldn’t convert, 4-0 Saints led. Ten minutes later, the Red V had a second try.
