To some extent, this dip in new outbreaks might be expected as spring in the Northern Hemisphere progresses towards summer. In recent days, Mansourah Poultry Company (MPCO) has announced the purchase of an additional farm in the Nubaria area, at a cost of 31.4 million Egyptian pounds (EGP; US$629,000). Further investment by the firm prior to the start of production is expected to be around EGP100 million, reports Zawya. That amounts to a year-on-year increase of 3.5%. Despite the higher sales, operating profit (before interest and taxes) for the company was down 51% compared to the same period of 2024 at just under ZAR271 million. At ZAR182 million, profit for the reporting period was 49% lower year-on-year.
