On the third anniversary of its inception, Margaritaville at Sea has announced the purchase of its third ship, the Costa Fortuna, currently operated by Costa Cruises. “Over the last three years we have been incredibly focused on building Margaritaville at Sea by delivering more of what our guests love – a uniquely laid-back island attitude with award-winning hospitality,” Christopher Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea, said in a press release.

As godmother of the Victory II, Molly Grace Applegate practiced smashing liquor bottles in the backyard of her San Diego home and giving speeches to her dog Lamb Chop who fell asleep halfway through her speech. But the 12-year old did an excellent job on Monday, May 12, christening the ship at Pier One in Chicago with a bottle of Maker’s Mark Bourbon. The milestone moment marked Victory II’s 10-night cruise between Chicago and Toronto.

A beloved guide dog has become a Holland America Line 5-Star Mariner and received the prestigious Platinum Medallion from the cruise line. Holland America Line hosted a special ceremony onboard Rotterdam to honor Joska who was a loyal companion to Cornelia and Cornelis Marinussen. Joska spent much of her life aboard Holland America Line ships with her human family. A globetrotter Labrador, Joska passed away in February 2025 at the age of 12.

When Nicholas Hall was a little boy, he wanted to grow up to own a restaurant just like his grandfather, Nicholas Graham, who emigrated from Crete in 1915.
