The Affordable Care Act (ACA), or “Obamacare,” was enacted in 2010 and implemented in 2014. Its goal is to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance, expand Medicaid coverage, and decrease the number of uninsured Americans. The Biden-Harris Administration recently reported that 21.3 million people signed up for the plan this year, 5 million more than last year. Yet, despite the policy being more popular than ever, Republicans in Congress are committed to getting rid of it.
