Since the takeover of Chelsea by new ownership the Blues have been unable to beat any great teams in the Premier LeagueChelsea’s first season under Enzo Maresca has been a roller coaster. There have been great highs and catastrophic lows. But there is one thing he has inherited that may not be his fault but is a symptom of the Boehly era. That is the Blues' inability to beat the other five teams in the “big six” of the Premier League.
A Tribute to Sam Rosen

Before the start of the NHL season, it was announced that Sam Rosen, the play-by-play voice for the New York Rangers for the last 40 years, would be retiring at the end of the 2024-25 season. One of the many reasons Rosen has become so beloved is that he grew up a Rangers fan. Rosen was raised in Brooklyn, NY and as a young kid was always listening to either Yankees, Giants, or Rangers games on the radio.
Chelsea's confusing transfer strategy does nobody any favours

Chelsea's January 2025 transfer strategy of letting player go on loan while not bringing in anyone to replace them leaves a lot to be desired. In this latest piece I talk about why it's such a bad move especially when you consider Chelsea's recent poor form. Monday, February 3rd marked the end of the winter transfer window, during which teams could sign, sell, and loan players throughout January.
This game against Heidenheim is a great chance for some players to get going.

On Thursday (Nov. 28) Chelsea will take on Bundesliga side Heidenheim in their fourth Europa Conference League match. So far the Blues have rolled with relative ease through this competition, winning their first three games (excluding the playoffs) and outscoring their opponents 13-3. Today, the traveling squad of the 21 players who are available tomorrow was released on the Chelsea website.

FOOTBALL — The Blue Devils were trounced at homecoming on Oct. 18 by Putnam Valley, 35-6. Haldane’s only score came in the second quarter on a 21-yard pass from David Powlis to Jake Thomas. Powlis completed 3 of 10 passes for 63 yards, all to Thomas; as a team, Haldane had 54 yards rushing. The Blue Devils (3-3) will host Hastings at 2 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 26). VOLLEYBALL — The Blue Devils lost twice at home by 3-0 scores, on Oct. 18 to Croton-Harmon and on Monday (Oct. 21) to Putnam Valley.

Eight games into the 2024-25 Premier League season and Chelsea F.C. look like a team on the right track. Which is not something people have been able to say confidently for a long time. They are currently sixth in the Premier League with four wins, two draws, and two losses (which came against the top two teams in the league Manchester City and Liverpool). However, despite all the good vibes surrounding the club, one problem must be fixed.

FOOTBALL — Coming off a bye week and two straight losses, Haldane bounced back on Oct. 12 with a 23-0 home win over Peekskill. David Powlis completed 10 of 15 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns, Alex Gaugler had 28 carries for 132 yards and Jake Thomas caught four passes for 95 yards and two scores. The Blue Devils scored in the first quarter on 51-yard and 23-yard passes from Powlis to Thomas. The defense also forced a safety to put Haldane up 16-0.

BOYS’ SOCCER — After a brutal stretch of losses, Haldane notched a win on Oct. 5, easily defeating Putnam Valley, 9-1. Matthew Silhavy scored a hat trick, followed by Samuel Cardona with two goals and Rhys Williams, Connor Keegan, Owen Sullivan-Hoch and Ty Villella each with one. Chelsea Player Ratings vs. Bournemouth Robert Sanchez Stands Out

In their first game since the international break Chelsea went on the road to Vitality Stadium to play against A.F.C. Bournemouth. The Blues managed to eke out a 1-0 win in a game where they were rather unimpressive. Robert Sanchez had his best performance in a Chelsea shirt with a clean sheet on the road, and seven saves, one of which was a penalty. But it was the contributions from Jadon Sancho and Christopher Nkunku off the bench who catapulted this west London side to victory.

FOOTBALL — Last year, the Blue Devils had one of their best seasons in school history, winning a Section I, Class D title and a regional championship before losing 21-20 in the state semifinal to Stillwater — a two-point conversion away from the state title game. They finished 8-3. Although they lost 12 seniors to graduation, this year the team will look to repeat as Section I champions for the first time.
