ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Since SIUE men’s basketball became a Division I program in 2008, only one player has scored more than 1,549 points. Collinsville, Illinois, native Ray’Sean Taylor has built a career to remember as a Cougar. In his 100th game at SIUE Ray’Sean Taylor scored his 1,550th point, becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer at the Division I level. “To be honest, I didn’t even know anything about it,” said SIUE graduate guard Ray’Sean Taylor.

NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV/Gray News) - With the start of high school basketball around the corner, one Missouri team is thankful to have their head coach back on the sidelines. Dan Rolfes is the head girls’ basketball coach for Incarnate Word Academy’s Red Knights. The team has a 131-game win streak that will continue into this winter, but they are most thankful to have Rolfes back on the sidelines, KMOV reports.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (Matrix Midwest) - Drake Heismeyer is a center for the Mizzou Tigers. Originally from the St. Louis area, Heismeyer is a redshirt senior and played a majority of his time at Mizzou on special teams. Recently after an injury, Heismeyer got his chance to start at center for the Tigers. He’s played more than 45 games for Mizzou on special teams. EDWARDSVILLE (First Alert 4) -- High school football playoffs begin this weekend in both Missouri and Illinois. The Edwardsville Tigers will travel to play York on Friday, the team that ended their season a year ago. This Tigers team is led by a large group of seniors, most notably Iose Epenesa. Epenesa is a 5-star defensive end that will play college football at Iowa. The Epenesa family has a tradition of football success. Iose’s father, Eppy, played college football at Iowa.
