    A Hillsboro woman was sentenced to six years of community control on multiple counts of meth possession in Highland County Common Pleas Court. Virginia Beall, 48, was sentenced to six years of community control for two counts of aggravated possession of methamphetamine from two separate cases, one a fifth-degree felony and the other a third-degree felony. For the first case, Beall was ordered to successfully complete outpatient treatment and aftercare through R.E.A.C.H. for Tomorrow.

    The launch of the Highland County Summer Scavenger Hunt was discussed at the weekly Wednesday morning meeting of the Highland County Board of Commissioners. Jamie Wheeler, executive director of the Highland County Visitors Bureau, said that the program launches on May 1, 2025, and will be open until Sept. 15, 2025. She said it is ending in the middle of September to allow the Highland County Fair to be included as well.
