    Talk about an incredible day wandering around the woods. Seeing something like an all-white deer can truly be a once-in-a-lifetime thing, but to see one that is a newborn, fresh out of the womb… even rarer. Albino and leucistic deer are unique and super rare. Albino deer are ones that lack melanin, causing them to be all white. It is a genetic condition that happens in about 1 in 20,000 deer in Wisconsin. On the other hand, leucistic deer lack some melanin, but not all of it.

    It’s that time of the year, people. Ya gotta love when these big creatures get into the rut and start doing wild things like wrecking someone’s whole backyard. For a moose, that is nothing, these things are huge. They are the largest members of the deer family reaching well over 1,500 pounds in some cases. The males, called bulls, grow monstrous and have massive paddle-shaped antlers that can reach up to 6 feet long.

    What a wild encounter. Anytime I see people helping out wildlife is a good time. Things happen, these creatures live in the harshest of conditions and get themselves into bad situations from time to time. It happens to everyone, even animals, so it’s always cool to have an encounter where you can help out. Especially if it’s something as cool as a bald eagle. Bald eagles are one of the largest birds of prey in North America with a wingspan that can span up to 7.5 feet.

    He didn’t see that coming…These deer man, you never know what they are going to do. The problem with them these days is that as urban sprawl continues to grow, deer become more adapted to living in those areas. Urban areas also create amazing deer habitat, with all the gardens, bushes and small yard trees they have plenty of food with very little competition to eat it. Beyond that, they have virtually no predators in towns other than cars.
