Police are investigating a suspected gas explosion at a home on a quiet residential street in Stoke Newington. Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to an explosion at a house on Dumont Road shortly before 5am on Tuesday, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said. The front of what looks like the living room of a Victorian terraced property appears to have been completely cracked by the explosion. The wood had become visible and the window has been completely destroyed.

Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed the Israeli Air Force has taken control of the skies in Tehran and has warned people in the Iranian capital to evacuate. The Israeli Prime Minister said “we are on a path to victory” stating that Israel is on its way to eliminating Iran’s nuclear and missile threat. It comes after explosions rocked the Israeli cities overnight as Iran and Israel exchanged missile fire for the fourth day in a row, with no sign of abating.

Iran has warned Israel’s allies, including the UK, that it will target their regional military bases if they help shoot down Iranian missiles, the country’s state media reported. Iran vowed to avenge Friday's Israeli onslaught, which gutted Iran's nuclear and military leadership and damaged atomic plants and military bases, killing 78 people including civilians, according to Iran's UN envoy.

At least 10 people have been killed in a school shooting in the Austrian city of Graz, including the suspected attacker, the city’s mayor has said. A former pupil armed with two guns allegedly opened fire in two classrooms shortly before 10am on Tuesday, killing nine people, local media reported. Witnesses said they heard as many as 20 gunshots, while one teacher and her students reportedly barricaded themselves in a classroom as the horror unfolded.
