The Somerset Lady Jumpers were hoping to snap a three-game skid on Monday evening at home as they welcomed in one of the top teams from the 13th Region in the South Laurel Lady Cardinals. The Jumpers weren't able to contain the hitting of the Cards as the visitors scored at least one run in every inning as Somerset fell 13-3 in five innings of action. Addy White led the way in the loss with two RBI's and a home run, with Blair Pyles adding one RBI.
ROUND THE BASES: Lady Warriors blow out Lincoln County

The Southwestern Lady Warriors were back at the War Path on Friday to take on the Lady Patriots of Lincoln County. In what was a strong performance on both sides of the plate, the Warriors scored at least one run in all five innings in a 10-0 shutout victory. Brynn Troxell and Arabella Lowery each had two RBI's to help lead the way for the Warriors, with Abigail Whitescarver adding one RBI on a solo home run.
Warriors fall to West Jess in regional volleyball finals

LEBANON - The Southwestern Warrior boys' volleyball team were able to sweep their way over John Hardin and hosting Marion County on Friday to advance to Saturday morning's 2nd Region Tournament championship game against powerhouse West Jessamine. With the first-ever regional volleyball crown (at least one sanctioned by the KHSAA) hanging in the balance, strong frontline hitting by the Colts doomed the Warriors as they ultimately fell to West Jessamine in a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-19, 25-16).
Warriors and Jumpers continue track season at Williamsburg

The Southwestern Warriors and Somerset Briar Jumpers traveled to Williamsburg on Friday to take part in the Gold Medal Meet. For the girls' side, Southwestern took home first place while Somerset finished in a tie for 13th. For the boys, Southwestern was 12th while Somerset was 14th. In the boys' 100m dash, Southwestern's Jaden Larcomb finished 10th with a time of 12.05, while Somerset's Jackson Burgess finished 13th with a time of 12.12. kAmx?
Weather forces cancellation of several games

Weather forced the cancellation of several local softball and baseball games on Thursday evening. That didn't stop the Somerset Lady Jumper softball team from breaking out some dance moves during a weather delay however. The Somerset Briar Jumpers track and field team traveled to Mercer County on Tuesday to take part in their All-Comers meet. The boys’ team finished in fifth place out of nine teams, while the girls’ team finished in a tie for seventh out of 10 teams. In the boys’ 100m dash, Kevin Meija finished 20th with a time of 12.33.

For the second time this season, the Somerset Briar Jumpers and the Southwestern Warriors squared off on the baseball diamond, with the Jumpers looking for the season sweep of their crosstown rival. In a game that was setting up to be a defensive battle, with Somerset ahead 1-0 in the sixth inning, the Jumpers managed to score eight runs in the top of the sixth inning and eventually rolled to a 9-0 victory.

Runners from the three local middle schools traveled to South Laurel to compete in their All-Comers meet on Monday. For the boys, Meece Middle came in second, while Northern Middle finished fifth and Southern Middle placed eighth. On the girls' side, Meece finished seventh and Pulaski placed eighth. In the boys' 100m dash, Meece's Jacobie Brashears finished second with a time of 12.50.

After a blowout loss to crosstown foe Southwestern last Thursday, the Somerset Lady Jumpers were back at home on Monday to take on another tough foe in the form of the North Laurel Lady Jaguars. The Jumpers held a 1-0 lead until the fourth inning, and from there it was all Jaguars as North Laurel defeated the home team 6-2. Makenna Baker and Reagan Childers each had one RBI to lead the Jumpers, with Emry Pyles, Blair Pyles and Aleah Wesley each adding one hit.
