Earlier this year, Robert Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards for “Oppenheimer.” This followed two unsuccessful bids spanning three decades. At long last, the dynamic Downey Jr. was rewarded. That is one overdue thespian taken care of but there are plenty more performers out there who have yet to receive the Oscar their talents and careers deserve.

Earlier this year, Issa Rae starred in not one but two Best Picture nominees. She played President Barbie in Greta Gerwig‘s “Barbie” and also featured as author Sintara Golden, whose book becomes the subject of Jeffrey Wright‘s scorn in “American Fiction.” That was a nice double-whammy for Rae but it isn’t the first time a performer has featured in multiple Best Picture nominees.
