PHOENIX — Kien Vu didn't receive many opportunities to prove himself at the outset of Arizona State's season. He had only a handful of at-bats during the team's nonconference schedule and didn't see his first plate appearance in Pac-12 play until its sixth game. The sophomore outfielder had to take advantage of his limited playing time if he wanted more. It didn't matter if he appeared in a blowout or as a pinch-runner in a crucial situation. If he desired more action, he had to perform.
