A commercial airliner and a military helicopter collided Wednesday night near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the closest airport to Washington, D.C. The passenger plane, which was flying from Wichita, Kansas, was carrying 64 people. The helicopter, which was on a training mission, had three people on board. The collision occurred at 8:48 p.m.local time (ET).
