A three year structured exercise programme reduced the relative risk of disease recurrence, new primary cancer, or death by 28% in patients with stage 3 and high risk stage 2 colon cancer, a phase 3 randomised trial has found.1The magnitude of benefit from exercise delivered after surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy was similar to that of many currently approved standard drug treatments, according to the study authors.
